Kanhangad> A five-member gang on bikes hacked a young man to death in Maungal paddy fields. Kodavalamthe Chandran (45), who was returning home on a scooter with his wife following going to Kanhangad Supply Co, was hacked with a machete. He was admitted to Mangaluru hospital lying on the road with serious leg injuries. The incident took place on Friday around 6 pm. He came from Gulf two weeks ago. The police suspect that the reason for the violence was a financial dispute and the accused are natives of Vazhakode. It is also indicated that Chandran has identified the accused.
