Doctor Tatyana Zakharova, in an interview for MedikForum, informed that our body cannot produce cobalamin, it must be obtained exclusively from food.

She noted that this substance is required for the formation of DNA, the normal functioning of the brain, and also for the production of red blood cells. Most often, the deficiency of this vitamin is recorded in the elderly, those who are addicted to alcohol, and also in vegetarians.

“Symptoms of low vitamin B12 appear slowly, often over several years. And some people have no symptoms at all, at least until the consequences become serious, ”said the physician.

She added that the most common signs of deficiency of this substance are fatigue, poor appetite, weight loss, depression, nausea, yellow skin tone. Vitamin can be obtained from meat, fish, milk, eggs.
