A health study reveals a surprising number of cancer cases in the south of the Kingdom… and the most recorded areas!

Al-Marsad Newspaper: A health research paper participating in the Health Research Forum at King Khalid University, in the Asir region last month, revealed an increase in the rate of cancer incidence over two decades, from 1999 to 2017 in the southern regions.

Breast cancer and colon cancer were the most diagnosed cancer, while cancers surrounded the Asir region, which accounted for the highest rate of infection at 54%.

The study confirmed an increase in the number of cases infected with cancer by 133 percent in the southern region, where the Asir region topped the most affected regions in the south, with a total of 12,232 patients, or 54%, followed by Jazan region with 5,173 patients, or 23%, and Al Baha third with 2,556 patients, by 11%, and Najran fourth with 2,547 infected by 11%.
