Two brothers starred in a heartbreaking story after dying of cancer on the same day, in the same hospital and in the same bed, but only hours apart.
The sad event occurred in Brazil. The victims of this terrible disease, Eduardo Antunes da Silveira, 38 years old, and Francisco Antunes Sobrinho, 52 years old.
Although both died on August 19 in a hospital in Santa Cruz, Rio de Janeiro, it was not until now that it went viral. The younger brother, João Antunes Neto, was the one who narrated the events to local media. He gave details of the short battle they fought against cancer.
Francisco was detected with a malignant tumor in his intestine in May 2021. A month later, his brother was diagnosed with liver cancer.
EDUARDO, THE FIRST TO GET AGGRESSED
Although they supported each other since then, they relapsed abruptly in the current year. The youngest of the three brothers reported that Eduardo’s health worsened. Therefore, he had to be transferred to the nearest hospital, dying just four days later.
The tragedy did not end there for João and his family. In the middle of a family call to organize the funeral ceremonies and subsequent burial of Eduardo, Francisco decompensated.
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) treated him and took him in an emergency to the same care center. However, he died in the same bed where his brother stopped breathing hours before.

They were both buried in the Santa Cruz Public Cemetery, but barely 24 hours apart, TN reported.
Due to the commotion generated by the case, Mayor Paulo César declared three days of mourning in that city.
