The royal couple took advantage of this period to make a Christmas visit to a rest home located in Chaudfontaine. Our journalist Samuel Ledoux was on site.
“It was the last royal visit of the year. A visit placed under the colors of Christmas, because to welcome the sovereign couple, a children’s choir was present“, he explains. Moreover, Queen Mathilde did not hesitate to sing along with the children. Jeanne, 93 years old, will remember this event for a long time. “It was an honor, I thought it was very good“.
Her daughter, Béatrice, was just as cheerful. “It’s something exceptional, especially since they take the time to travel. Not only as an official visit here at home, but that they also take the time to be interested in the residents, the staff. (…)”.
While the royal visit was initially scheduled to last 1 hour, it ultimately lasted 1.5 hours. The sovereigns ended this visit with the traditional walkregarding in the company of children from the different schools in Chaudfontaine.
