A lady contracts COVID-19 in a hospital

A 77-year-old immunosuppressed lady, hospitalized with a broken hip, caught COVID-19 at the scene. The hospital in which she is a patient had not injected her with a fourth dose, despite Canada’s recommendation.

In Canada, the booster dose is recommended for immunosuppressed people. Patrick Meunier, the son of the Roberval hospital patient, struggles to understand why the hospital cannot inject his mother with a fourth dose.

“We would have to take her out and then go to a vaccination center,” Mr. Meunier is indignant about the lack of vaccine in the establishment where his mother is.

“There are COVID-19 patients around her. Knowing this, I will give her a fourth dose, if she asks me. I understand that there is a risk, but for my mother, this risk is less compared to the risk of surviving by contracting the virus”.
