‘Find innovative ways to restore mutual trust and rebuild society in a divided world order.’

At the 23rd World Knowledge Forum to be held at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul from September 20-22, world-class scholars, businessmen, and experts will put their heads together to find ways to secure common prosperity.

In the field of technology, Jason Brink, Chairman of Gala Games Blockchain and others, discuss the future of games and communities. Mark Saga, CEO of Soul Machines, which makes digital humans, will also have a discussion with Asaf Ashkenaj, founder of Everysite, which makes AR smart glasses in Israel.

A large number of top experts in the 4th industrial revolution technology will participate in this year’s World Knowledge Forum. Former Carnegie Mellon University professor Eric Singh, president of Muhammad bin Zayed AI Professional Graduate School (MBZUAI) in Abu Dhabi, which claims to be the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) graduate school, will participate as a speaker. As competition between cities intensifies due to deregulation of blockchain, Weirum, head of the licensing division of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the financial services regulatory authority, plans to discuss the future of virtual assets with Mike Belsi, CEO of Bitgo.

In addition, an international cooperation session will be prepared in line with the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In Israel, Igal Erlich, Chairman of Yozma Group, Tamir Pardo, former head of Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, and Mordehai Sheves, former Vice President of Weizmann Research Institute, and several startups visited the World Knowledge Forum to provide information on semiconductors, innovation, cybersecurity, and biotechnology. We plan to share opinions on various topics.

In the climate field, Vice President Dougray of Carbon Engineering, one of the two largest mountain ranges along with Climbworks in the world for carbon capture technology, visits Korea directly. Carbon Engineering is a company that has received an investment from Breakthrough Energy, a climate fund founded by Bill Gates with technology in the field of direct carbon capture (DACCS). Recently, it is also promoting cooperation in various fields with Airbus, which is interested in the field of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Jay Desi, Director of Breakthrough Energy, also participates as a panelist.

Carmine di Noia, Director of Corporate Finance, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), will be the speaker for the session on ‘the role of business in the low-carbon transition process’. As a panelist, Marie Christine Cuasne Roquette, chairman of the Sonepar Group, who serves as a director of Total Energy, a French energy company, will visit Korea and discuss the direction of change of companies in a situation where ‘environment’ is added to corporate governance evaluation.

In the field of renewable energy, Jonathan Cole, CEO of Corio Generation, Macquarie Group’s offshore wind power organization, will be the speaker. He has been leading the UK and European offshore wind business, including overseeing the offshore wind business at Verdrola, a global energy company in Spain. He currently serves as Chairman of the UK Offshore Wind Program Committee and a member of the UK Offshore Wind Industry Council.

Top experts in the investment industry also visit the World Knowledge Forum. David Giordano, CEO of BlackRock’s Global Climate Infrastructure Team, will be the speaker. The BlackRock Climate Infrastructure team manages more than $9 billion in assets, and more than 200 investors are investing in six funds and over 300 renewable energy projects. So far, it has been investing in 4 continents and 10 countries.

The ‘Future of Work’ session will feature Slack’s co-founder and chief technology officer, Carl Henderson.

Lorenzo de’ Medici, the prince of the Medici family, also visits Korea. He applied the long history of the world’s oldest banker family, Medici, to contemporary art to create a Renaissance pop collection. He is also the founder of Medici Bank, the first international digital blockchain bank in the United States.

This year’s World Knowledge Forum will be attended by many world-class security experts. This is in order to coolly analyze how the crisis that occurred in Europe will affect the security of other regions, including East Asia.

A large number of high-ranking officials, such as former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for East Asia Affairs Haino Klink and former Assistant Secretary of Defense for China Affairs of the United States Department of Defense, Chad Sbragia, visit South Korea.

In the ‘Economy and Trade as a Security Measure’ session, Urs Gerber, former head of the Swiss Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission, Roy Campawson, president of the Asian Policy Research Institute (NBR), Greg Kennedy, professor at King’s College London, and Philip Dalydakis, former Australian Innovation and Digital The Minister of Economy, Trade and Investment will attend.
