Report by Manuel Matar:

The Lebanese surprise the world with their diverse talents, and are constantly reminded that the Land of the Cedars is a country of culture that exports art, despite all the political and security crises that have passed and continue to pass through it until today.

Jana Salama, a 22-year-old Lebanese young woman, attracted the attention of the judging committee of the “La Voix” program in Canada, in her first visit to the “Voice Only” stage, after she mixed Arabic and French on stage, and presented the songs “I Loved You in the Summer” and “Coupable.” Jana joined the team of Canadian star Corneille.

In an exclusive interview with IMLebanon, Jana described her experience as “more wonderful and more beautiful than I expected,” saying: “Although it was not my first time on stage, I felt pressure and tension, and this is different from previous times, and it is a beautiful feeling.”

“The show is very rich in learning from other artists and the show’s bands who add a lot to my career,” she said, noting the great support Corneille gave her, as he pushed her out of her safe space.

Salama stressed that “the opportunity to represent Lebanon abroad is beautiful, as the world learns about my country’s civilization through the music that I present and shows the extent of my attachment to my roots.” She continued: “It is sometimes difficult for us as Lebanese musicians abroad to show our civilization and sing with our Arabs in front of others, but the reaction The world and the judges were beautiful as they told me that I add to Canadian civilization when I sing in my own way, which confirms the need to be real and natural in front of others because they will like what we offer.”

In addition, Jana announced that she began her artistic career away from Lebanon, after leaving the country almost 5 years ago, saying: “The Canadian community supported me and recognized my talent during my concerts in Canada.” In response to a question about the reason for her choosing a talent program outside Lebanon, she considered that her participation With the Canadian “La Voix” program, it is natural “because I live here and I wanted to convey my voice to Canadians as well who have an insatiable desire to learn about our civilization and our music, and I wanted to convey my voice to the Lebanese in Lebanon who do not know me because I started far away from them.”

She stressed that what awaits us is more beautiful than what has been shown so far, hoping that what she presents will be admired by the Lebanese.

Once again, the star of a young Lebanese talent shines in diaspora countries, introducing the world to the rhythm of our music, and assuring everyone that Lebanon remains a source of brilliance, success, and love of life despite all the crises it is going through.
