British Prince Harry and his American wife, Meghan Markle, sent a message of support to Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, after she announced that she had cancer, and they expressed their hope that she would enjoy health and privacy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement of support for Kate, wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince William, Harry’s older brother: “We wish health and recovery for Kate and the family, and we hope that they can do so in privacy and peace.”

The message came among many statements of support for the Princess of Wales, who said in a video clip on Friday that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy after suffering from cancer.

Kate (42 years old) spent two weeks in the hospital last January, after undergoing surgery that her office said at the time was “non-cancerous.”

Meanwhile, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said on Friday that Britain’s King Charles is “proud” of the Princess of Wales for her courage in speaking about her treatment after suffering from cancer.

The spokesman explained, according to Reuters, that Charles is “very proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking out,” adding that the king “has remained in contact with his beloved daughter-in-law over the past weeks.”

The spokesman added that Charles and his wife Camilla “will continue to provide love and support to the entire family during this difficult time.”

US President Joe Biden also wrote on the X platform: “I and (First Lady) Jill join millions around the world who are praying for your full recovery, Princess Kate.”

While the White House wished the Princess of Wales a full recovery after the “terrible” news of her cancer diagnosis.

White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters: “We all heard the terrible news. Our sympathies go out to the Duchess of Cambridge and her family.”

As for the French President, Emmanuel Macron, he wrote on the X platform: “I and (First Lady) Brigitte wish you a full recovery, in light of this difficult period that you are going through. Your strength and resilience inspire us all.”

Princess Kate said in the video clip that she posted on Friday that when she had major abdominal surgery last January, it was not known that there was any cancer.

She added: “But the tests conducted after the operation showed the presence of cancer, so my medical team advised me that I should undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy… and I am now in the early stages of this treatment.”

She stressed that she is thinking of all those who have been afflicted with cancer, saying: “For everyone facing this disease, in any way, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”

Details of the cancer were not revealed, but Kensington Palace in London says it is “confident that the princess will make a full recovery.”

Princess Kate breaks her silence… and announces that she has cancer

Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, wife of British Crown Prince William, announced that she has cancer and that she is in the early stages of treatment after the disease was discovered in tests recently.

Kate has been the focus of speculation, rumors and bizarre conspiracy theories on social media and has made headlines around the world due to her absence from royal duties after undergoing surgery.

Kate and William wanted some privacy until their children, Prince George (10 years old), Princess Charlotte (8 years old) and Prince Louis (5 years old), began their school vacation on Friday, according to Reuters.

Kate said: “It took me some time to recover from major surgery in order to begin my treatment. But most importantly, I took time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that was right for them, and to reassure them that I would be okay.”

She continued: “As I told them, I am fine and I am getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal, in my mind, my body, and my resolve.”

Kate has not appeared at any public event since she attended Christmas Mass alongside others from the royal family.

But a video clip taken last Saturday by a member of the public and published by The Sun newspaper showed that she appeared to be in good health and was walking carrying shopping bags alongside her husband in Windsor, near their home.

Since her admission to hospital in January, Kate’s office has stuck to its official statements, that the princess is recovering well and that she will only announce important developments, in keeping with the royal motto: “Never complain, never explain.”

The princess’s office said she was unlikely to return to her official duties until after Easter, which falls on March 31.

King Charles, 75, also underwent a procedure for an enlarged prostate at the same hospital as Kate in January. Then, last February, Buckingham Palace revealed that he would be undergoing treatment for cancer, meaning he had to postpone his public royal duties.
