A man about 60 years old, who participated in the 9th “Olympic Truce Road” lost his life.
According to ilialive.gr, the unfortunate man had started with other participants from Ilida, bound for Olympia, when he collapsed a few kilometers before the finish, at the height of the village of Iraklia.
Rescuers from the Red Cross followed the participants and an EKAV ambulance immediately arrived at the scene, immediately transporting him to the Arch. Olympia Health Center.
According to newsbeast, despite the efforts of doctors and rescuers immediately with CPR and then with every available means, unfortunately the man did not recover.
The race takes place at a non-competitive pace and essentially the participants walk the 50 km route, however the high temperatures for the season strained everyone who took part in the race.
