Inserm (National Institute for Health and Medical Research) would have chosen Orléans to set up its new “technological research accelerator” in conjunction with the hospital and the University. This laboratory, according to information revealed by France Bleu Orléans, would be dedicated to research on messenger RNA with around twenty agents. The creation of the CHU and the personality of Chantal Pichon, one of the pioneers of research on messenger RNA who will direct the laboratory, would have motivated this choice of Orléans.

The laboratory’s mission will be to make up for France’s delay in the development of new vaccines and the fight once morest emerging infectious diseases.
