Former MP Thierno Bocoum, also leader of the Agir movement, attacked journalist Cheikh Yerim Seck who had made remarks deemed inappropriate.
“Instead of apologizing to the Senegalese and showing humility, he insults his peers and wanders in his explanations. It is not his argument that is in question and he knows it. It is his illustration that is irresponsible. He mixes things up, as he very often does in the subject that he knows the least about and that he likes to talk about: law. A mystifier that nothing can stop“, deplored Thierno Bocoum.

An exit which made rey the Council for the Observance of the Rules of Ethics and Deontology in the media (CORED). The said Council issued a press release this Friday, June 16, 2023 in which it strongly condemns the comments made by Cheikh Yérim Seck during the Faram Faccé program on the private television channel TFM.

Considering that these remarks are extremely serious and constitute a threat to national cohesion, an incitement to violence and a call for murder, CORED has decided to take up the matter itself to refer this case to its Court of peers.
And Thierno Bocoum deplores the fact that Cheikh Yérim Seck, instead of apologizing, “insults his peers and wanders in his explanations”.
