This morning police personnel caught a subject trying to steal a car. The event occurred in the neighborhood Almirante Brown de Cipolletti at the intersection of Ituzaingó and 25 de Mayo streets.
According to the unit 32 commissioner, Gustavo Moraga, it was thanks to a neighbor’s alert that they were able to delay the subject. “The man was stolen items from a vehicle, Thanks to the quick alert from one of the neighbors, a cell phone arrived at the scene and detained the subject,” said the commissioner.
The man had forced open the front door and hood of a Corsa Classic. Also, he had cut the battery cables. “At the moment of delaying it, the man ignored the situation,” said the head of unit 32 of Cipolletti.
At the side of the vehicle, police officers found a knife that could have been used to cut the cables.s. Criminalistics cabinet staff worked at the scene to collect evidence.
“The 48-year-old man is domiciled in Cipolletti, but apparently does not reside in the city. Now he is detained in the framework of a case and in the course of the morning the corresponding charges will be filed against him,” declared Moraga.
