A new blow to Johnson .. after the resignation of the second adviser

Christopher Giddat, the independent adviser to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said on Wednesday that he has resigned.

Gedet said last month that Johnson should explain why he believed he had not broken the ministerial code of conduct following he was fined for attending a party during the COVID-19 lockdown.

“Unfortunately, I feel it is right to resign from my position as Independent Adviser to Ministers,” he said in a statement posted on the government’s website. Gedet, whose role was to advise Johnson on matters relating to the ministerial code of conduct, did not provide a reason for his resignation.

He was appointed in April 2021, five months following the previous office holder resigned in protest of Johnson’s support for a minister who was found to have broken the law.
