A new claim of earth scientists has come out

Everyone knows that the earth is round, but following a recent study, scientists have said that the earth may not have always been round.

Scientists believe that the early Earth was oblate (oval with flattened ends) rather than spherical.

Previously, scientists believed that protoplanets (new planets formed around stars) must be round. To test this idea, researchers from the University of Central Lancashire tried to artificially simulate how planets would form in the form of disks around stars.

In this simulation, newly formed planets were found to be flat rather than round. This is the first time that scientists have observed the 3D shapes of newly formed planets in simulations.

Co-author of the study, Dr. Dimitri Stamatilos, said that scientists were surprised to learn that the early Earth was not round but oblate in shape.

He said that scientists have been studying the process of planet formation for a long time but might not see the structure of the planets as they emerged in the simulations. We have always understood that the planets were round from the beginning.

Most of the planets we can observe are round or at least close to round.

According to simulations, early Earth’s poles were flattened by regarding 0.3 percent, Jupiter’s regarding 6 percent, and Saturn’s regarding 10 percent.
