A new device could warn of the presence of a spider in a home thanks to a system that combines artificial intelligence with a thermal camera, to warn its inhabitants as soon as an eight-legged bug sets foot there.
The HunterG, which is currently in the test phase, could be marketed by the end of the year, French media Presse Citron recently reported.
Thanks to a thermal camera, the device that would use artificial intelligence would be able to recognize the shapes and movements of the spiders, then send an alert to the cell phone of the owner of the device, continued the French media.
It would work both day and night, and could spread to other insects, especially in dangerous areas where scorpions or certain species of spiders are poisonous. “HunterG detects a crawling spider and a scorpion, locates with a laser and call for help with alarm. The camera pans to follow the moving spider and scorpion as long as they are in view,” the HunterG website reads.
