The first residents moved in at the beginning of December following two years of construction. But it was only recently that the new retirement home in Vorchdorf was officially opened. The Gmunden social welfare association spent 12.4 million euros on the construction project. The new retirement home is on Lambacher Strasse on the site of the old, demolished home. In his opening speech, Mayor Johann Mitterlehner (ÖVP) referred to the difficulties during the construction period (pandemic, supply bottlenecks).
