Three months after its announcement and its first sumptuous trailer, Octopath Traveler 2 is back this December to give us some news. Development continues on the side of Square Enix and the release date of February 23, 2023 is maintained. The opportunity to offer us a new gameplay video, 5″31 min long in which the story is treated. As a reminder, it will be a new adventure, in a new world and therefore new characters. This this time, we will leave for Solistia, a continent composed of a western part and an eastern part, separated by an ocean. The game promises to take us on board large ships criss-crossing the sea routes of the world, and booming industry thanks to the appearance of new steam-powered technologies. We will therefore be transported to a universe where industrial modernization and flourishing culture mix on one side, while others cry and suffer under the weight of wars, disease and poverty. It is in these circumstances that you will be able to travel freely by embodying one of the eight characters that are Hikari the swordsman, Agnéa the dancer, Partitio the merchant, Osvald the scholar, Throné the thief, Temenos the priest, Ochette the huntress and finally Castto the apothecary.
For Octopath Traveler 2, Square Enix decided to release it on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4 and PC. The Xbox versions have clearly been forgotten.
