This Saturday morning, the plane in which the mayor of Tepic, Geraldine Ponce, was traveling and his team, suffered a accident while trying to land on the airport of the Mesa del Nayar community, in the municipality of Del Nayar; the aircraft suffered a loss of landing gear and a completely damaged wing, however, the people sustained minor injuries.
Unofficial sources point out that due to gusts of wind in the mountainous area, and the pilot’s ignorance of the place, caused the landing was unsuccessful, however, managed to maintain the integrity of passengers and crew.
The ship fell on the grounds of the Mesa Del Nayar Educational Economic Development Center high school, with no major damage reported in the area or between people.
The mayor of Tepic attended an event as a guest of Sedatu to present a development plan to the communities of native peoples, and after being without major injuries decided to continue its activity in the areareported the Government of Tepic.
“The Municipal President, Ing. Geraldine Ponce, and members of her work team, suffered a mishap during their air transfer to the municipality of Del Nayar to participate as a guest in the meeting to discuss the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Wixárika People, where she is also present SEDATU staff and leaders of indigenous peoples of Nayarit and Durango.
“The Municipal President has some minor injuries, however, he has decided to continue with his planned agenda for today. The City Council staff that accompanies her are also safe, ”reported the Social Communication office.
