A platform that helps determine academic paths

The Stelek platform has written a unique success story in the field of entrepreneurship. It is a student-founded e-learning platform to provide support to hundreds of thousands of students and learners around the world, helping them develop academic study plans and define their academic paths.
The impetus for creating this platform was that its founders, students at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, one of Qatar Foundation’s partner universities, tried to use the old global education tools, but it didn’t help them much in making plans for their college studies or visualizing their academic paths. They discovered, at that time, that there was a gap in that system, and they had an opportunity to create a vision and achieve better communication between students and academic advisors, so that students could easily make plans for their university studies and visualize their academic paths for 4 years during their studies at the university.
The early years of Stelek were inextricably linked to the Qatar Foundation ecosystem, as its founders participated in QSTP’s intensive startup pre-establishment program, XLR8, which helps promising young inventors determine the economic viability of their technology ideas. It was not long before Stelek was established in the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) Free Zone, a member of Qatar Foundation, and started its career as a technology start-up.
In the fall of 2019, in the context of the seed funding program, Stelek received an investment from the Technical Projects Fund of Qatar Science and Technology Park. This was the beginning of a journey that eventually saw this startup grow exponentially over the next two years, including a six-fold increase in revenue.
Mr. Rukhsar Niaz, Director of Operations and Co-founder of Stelek explained, “The investments made by the Technology Venture Fund were the first support we received after graduation, and it helped us immensely in establishing the logistics of our new company. At the same time, we received guidance and advice from the team experts. Technology Ventures Fund during the early stages of our startup’s growth. In fact, without the support of the Technology Ventures Fund, it would have been very difficult to set up or start a business in Doha.”
