On February 27, 1996, the first Pokémon video games were released. Pokemon Red et Pokémon Vert, first in Japan, where players discovered the concept of fighting and trading Pokémon by connecting Gameboy consoles together. It marked the beginning of what would become one of the most beloved entertainment franchises in the world, with a worldwide community of fans known as “Trainers”.

Since then, Trainers around the world have come together to celebrate their love of the franchise on February 27, the date of Pokémon Day. This year, The Pokémon Company is celebrating the enduring original spirit of player connection by inviting Trainers to participate in the “Pokémon Together” campaign throughout 2023.

To launch the “Pokémon Together” campaign, The Pokémon Company International invites Trainers to come together to celebrate Pokémon Day. Starting today, fans around the world are invited to post photos and videos showing their love for the franchise, to share their fondest memories on social media. Posts with the hashtag #PokemonTogether will be grouped together in a mosaic depicting the famous Poké Ball, which will be featured on Pokémon Day.
