A Jordanian legal source explained to “Al Arabiya.net” that the charge that may be assigned to the owner of the cafe is “counterfeiting, promoting and possessing banknotes”, as Jordanian law is punished with temporary labor and a fine of no less than five hundred dinars and not more than a thousand dinars. Apparently it is a banknote or part of a banknote or a paper that is similar to the banknote in any form or means, or that it was circulated, promoted, brought into the Kingdom or removed from it, knowing that it was counterfeit.
The law also punishes anyone who manufactures, uses, sells, offers for sale, or knowingly possesses paper similar to the designated paper used in the manufacture of any type of banknote or paper that may be thought of as such paper for temporary work for a period not exceeding five years.
