A retiree died after being hit by a truck in Melo, in the south of Córdoba

An 84-year-old retiree, identified as Armanda Prelatto, died in Melo, a town located in the Presidente Roque Sáenz Peña department, in the southeast of the province, following being hit by a Mercedes Sprint truck when she was walking through the town.

According to police sources, the truck was driven by a 28-year-old man, a native of Adelia María.

The incident was recorded on 25 de Mayo street, almost at the intersection with Saavedra, in that town.

An emergency service worked on the scene, which referred the retiree to the Melo dispensary, where the death was confirmed.

Meanwhile, the trucker was transferred to the hospital to carry out blood tests and initiate the corresponding actions.

Wake and burial in Melo

Armanda’s remains were veiled this Thursday in Melo and will be buried at 3:00 p.m. in the local cemetery, according to the Melo Electric Cooperative.
