A return to the front of the stage crowned by the presence of two African heads of state

This 14th edition of the MEDays Forum will be marked by the participation of two Heads of State from the African continent, H.E. the President of the Republic of Liberia, George Weah and HE the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Pereira Neves.

After two years of absence, due to health constraints, the MEDays Forum gives a new appointment, from November 2 to 5, 2022 in Tangier, to a community of 230 distinguished speakers, from 80 countries, as well as experts and attentive and curious observers of international relations, bringing the number of participants expected to 5000.

The international order is changing. The global geopolitical center of gravity is shifting due to the assertion of new powers, the diversification of international partnerships and the development aspirations of emerging countries, particularly those on the African continent. Recent crises, too little taken care of by concrete and operational multilateral responses, will be at the center of the exchanges of the community of MEDays speakers.

Does the war, back between the European powers, between Russia and Ukraine and through them, between block logics, show the definitive return of the « hard power », military power and geostrategy? What space is left for independence, “non-alignment”, diplomacy and international consensus? What principles should govern tomorrow’s international relations and should be defended? The MEDays Forum will attempt to shed light and provide answers to these crucial questions, at the heart of current concerns.

Faithful to its roots in the service of South-South cooperation, in accordance with the spirit and the letter of the Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in this areathe MEDays Forum offers a rich program of debates to mobilize and catalyze discussion between partner countries in the South, particularly between African countries, so that their collective voice carries more weight in the international arena.

The main angles of reflection, exchange of the program will focus in particular on regional and continental integration, the issues facing the African Union, the security issue, the issue of stability, or the impact of the war. Russia-Ukraine on the African continent.
