Beirut – “Arab Jerusalem”:
The murder of a Saudi citizen in the heart of the southern suburb raised question marks about its significance and dimensions, and preoccupied the security forces, which intensified their investigations to clarify the truth, especially since the suburb is known to be under the influence of Hezbollah. These rapid investigations revealed that the victim fell at the hands of two of his brothers for family reasons, according to what was stated in a statement by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, which clarified that “at around 20:30 on 9/7/2022, in the Sfeir locality near Al-Raya stadium, a crime took place. The victim (M.M., born in 1980, a Saudi national) was stabbed to death with a knife.”
The statement added, “As a result of the follow-up and investigations carried out by the specialized units of the Al-Dahiya Company in the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, it was found that my murdered brothers committed the crime for family and personal reasons, and then fled to an unknown destination, both of Saudi nationality: A.M. Born in 1976 and AD, born in 1990.”
He continued, “The secret police intensified their investigations to determine their whereabouts, and on 7/10/2022 information was available about their presence in one of the apartments in the Sfeir locality. Immediately, their whereabouts were raided by a patrol from the Burj Al-Barajneh faction with the support of a joint force from the Al-Dahiya Brigade, where they were arrested and the crime instrument seized. By interrogating them, they confessed that they had killed their brother for family reasons.
The statement concluded, “The detainees and the arrested were referred to the concerned unit, and the investigation is underway under the supervision of the competent judiciary.”
