The Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khatib, announced, in a tweet that he posted on his Twitter account, that Saudi Arabia has canceled the requirement for specific professions to grant tourism visas to residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

According to Al-Khatib, allowing the tourist visa, which includes all residents of the Gulf countries of all professions, enables them to perform Umrah.

The Saudi Minister of Tourism said, “We welcome all residents of the Gulf countries, with clear and simple steps; obtaining a visa to visit Saudi Arabia has become easier, without requiring specific professions.”

Last year, Saudi Arabia launched a tourist visa for residents of the Gulf countries, which included people with specific professions.

The tourist visa allows entry to Saudi Arabia for tourism reasons such as events, visiting family and friends, recreational activities, performing Umrah (not including Hajj), in addition to not including trips for the purpose of study.

The visa fee is 300 riyals, in addition to the value of medical insurance.
