A truck driver died Tuesday in an accident near Dallas, Texas when his tractor-trailer collided with another vehicle propelling him down an overpass.
The truck burst into flames as it fell into the service road below, authorities and witnesses told CNN.
The driver of the tractor-trailer died at the scene, Allen, Texas police said in a statement. The accident was reported shortly before 3 p.m.
The accident happened in front of the eyes of shaken witnesses.
“It was unreal, I felt like I was in a movie,” Renee Reid told CNN. “It’s like everything was in slow motion, I couldn’t believe it.”
The witnesses were at a traffic light when the tractor-trailer suddenly flew off the highway and landed lower in front of them.
Authorities told CNN that the tractor-trailer collided with the car in front and that the driver of the car is fine.
The police are still trying to understand the circumstances surrounding the collision.
