A senior Egyptian source: Negotiations regarding Gaza have been continuing since the morning, and there is a noticeable agreement on some points

Egypt – Egyptian media reported yesterday, Wednesday, that negotiations on the truce in Gaza have been continuing in the presence of Qatari and American delegations and the Palestinian faction movement since ten in the morning, amid remarkable agreement on some controversial points.

Cairo News Channel quoted an unnamed senior source as saying: “The Egyptian security delegation stressed to all participating parties the danger of escalation and non-commitment to the negotiating path,” indicating that Egyptian efforts continue to maintain this path.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian factions said that they “will not accept from any party the imposition of any form of guardianship over the Rafah crossing or any other,” after Israeli forces stormed the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing yesterday and extended their control over it, amid reports of their intention to hand over its management to an American company.

On the other hand, Tel Aviv is witnessing large demonstrations by the families of Israeli prisoners detained in the Gaza Strip, against Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government, demanding a deal with the faction movement and the return of the “detainees.”

For the third day in a row, Israel continues its military operation in Rafah in conjunction with a new round of truce negotiations ongoing in Cairo with the aim of reaching a humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip and a complete ceasefire.

Rafah is witnessing fierce clashes between Palestinian fighters and the Israeli army following the latter’s control of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, which is a vital entry point for aid coming from Egypt.

It is worth noting that the Israeli War Council gave the green light for a military operation in Rafah hours after the Hamas movement approved the Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
