A series of important packages under the Long Thanh airport project are about to be bid

Accordingly, ACV will bid for package 4.7 – Construction and installation of aircraft apron equipment and other projects.

ACV said the progress of implementing this bidding package has now completed the technical design appraisal, is implementing design approval and organizing contractor selection. It is expected that package 4.7 will start construction on this item in April 2024, completed in April 2026.

At the same time, ACV will bid for package 4.8 – Construction, equipment installation, design and construction drawings of intra-port traffic works and airport technical infrastructure. This bidding package has completed the technical design appraisal, is approving the design and organizing contractor selection. It is expected that the bidding package will start construction in April 2024 and be completed in April 2026.

In addition, package 4.9 – Construction and equipment installation of aircraft fuel supply system will also be put out for bidding in early 2024. Package No. 7.8 – Construction and equipment installation Cargo terminal No. 1 and the remaining auxiliary works will also be put out for bidding in the first and second quarters of 2024. Construction is expected to start in June 2024 and be completed in May 2026.

Similar to package 11.5 – Construction and installation of garage equipment is also expected to start in June 2024 – completed in May 2026.

Regarding disbursement, Vietnam Airports Corporation (investor of 3 Long Thanh airport component projects) said that up to now the total value paid has reached 11,334 billion VND.

In 2024, Long Thanh airport alone has also arranged about VND 30,000 billion to disburse for the above bidding packages. For package 5.10 – passenger terminal will be spent from about 10,000 billion VND – 15,000 billion VND according to the progress of ordering equipment production.

Right from the first days of the new year, at the passenger terminal construction area, the construction site was bustling again with many machines and human resources simultaneously working. Of these, 24 tower cranes have been operating around the clock to meet all the work of lifting materials and equipment across the entire project site.

A representative of the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board said that the entire underground volume has been completed. Construction contractors are continuing to speed up, completing the roof from August and September to begin erecting the roof steel structure.

In the runway and apron taxiway package, as of February 12, soil excavation reached 31.73%, soil filling reached 29.95%. In addition, K98 sand filling reached 17.95%, crushed stone aggregate construction reached 5.63%, and M150/25 cement concrete layer construction reached 6,983.15m3.

The runway, taxiway, and apron are expected to be completed before June 2025. In particular, ground construction will be completed before November 2024, sand foundation construction will be completed before February 2025.

The road connecting T1 and T2 airports has so far been filled with soil at 34.17%, and soil pile construction has reached 47.0%. The bored pile bridge section reached 82.08% and the construction of 74/138 abutments reached 53.62%, and the construction of Super T beams reached 3.51%.

Information about the project construction plan, Mr. Nguyen Chau, Site Commander of zone 6 (Vinaconex) constructing the passenger terminal, said that on the construction site, machinery and human resources are accelerating.

“In addition to the construction force on duty throughout Tet, the personnel on Tet holiday also returned to the construction site to ensure progress, take advantage of the dry season, and increase the workload on the construction site,” Mr. Chau shared.
