Kochi: The High Court quashed the case related to actor Srinath Bhasi insulting the anchor during an interview. The action was taken following a settlement was reached with the complainant. In the event that Srinath Bhasi apologized, the presenter had stated that she was not interested in proceeding with the case. Subsequently, Srinath Bhasi filed an application in the High Court seeking quashing of the case.
Earlier, the High Court had stayed further proceedings in the case. Justice Dr. Srinath Bhasi filed a petition to quash the case. Kausar issued the interim order at Edapagam. As Srinath Bhasi had apologized for the incident, the presenter had stated that she was not interested in proceeding with the case and had no complaint. An affidavit of the presenter was also given along with the petition stating this.
On September 21, the Maradu police registered a case on the complaint filed by the presenter stating that she was abused during an interview at a hotel in Kochi. Srinath Bhasi was arrested on 23rd and released on bail. Then the Film Producers’ Association intervened in the matter and called both of them for a discussion.
