Al Dhafra hospitals affiliated to the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company “SEHA” have started providing mental health services, through specialized clinics at the Al Dhafra Family Medicine Center in Madinat Zayed and Ghayathi Hospital in Ghayathi City, through a group of doctors to deal with various psychological consultations in the Al Dhafra region.
Dr. Amna Khamis Al-Mismari, a psychiatrist, explained that the provision of mental health services to the residents of Al Dhafra began initially 3 years ago by providing a telepsychiatry service, in coordination and cooperation with the Al-Maqtaa Health Center and the Al-Zafarana Center for Diagnostic and Comprehensive Examination, which are affiliated with the external therapeutic services. , one of the facilities of the “SEHA” company, through a unique project aimed at facilitating access to mental health services for patients in the Al Dhafra region. With the success of the experiment, it was decided to open a specialized clinic in Al Dhafra Center to receive consultations and provide them with treatment services according to each case.
Al-Mismari added that the treatment services provided to clients of psychological counseling are carried out in complete confidentiality to preserve the privacy of clients and cannot be disclosed in any way, as clients find all forms of support and assistance confidentially and personally.
She pointed out that the experiment achieved great success through the patients’ acceptance of the psychiatrist’s review, because there is an increase in the number of cases and the acceptance of the treatment idea by parents and patients.
And she indicated that the clinic provides mental health services for all cases of adults, adolescents and children who suffer from behavioral and emotional disorders, including mental health services for adults, and this specialty focuses on diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of mental and behavioral disorders that affect adults.
As well as providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment and management of developmental disorders and autism, in addition to emotional and behavioral problems.
The clinic also receives the elderly to provide treatment services in geriatrics, patterns, causes, effects, relationships between aging, medical factors, and social and psychological issues. Dr. Amna confirmed that Al Dhafra Family Medicine Center includes a group of distinguished medical and therapeutic services, especially family medicine, which is one of the related specialties and related to the specialization of psychiatry due to the complementarity between them, both at the level of treatment as well as the medicines used for the patient.
