The phenomenon was repeated in different areas of the coastal Egyptian governorate, amid fears that its appearance would indicate the imminence of an earthquake.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qayati, a member of the media center of the Meteorological Authority in Egypt, said, “The authority monitored publications on communication sites regarding the presence of a blue light in the sky of the city of Alexandria,” stressing that “I immediately contacted stations and meteorological centers in the region to clarify the matter, but they did not monitor anything.” In this regard”.
He added, “By seeing satellite images at the Early Warning Center, this matter was not detected either, and therefore it is not a meteorological phenomenon, and there is no problem with it.”
He explained to Egyptian media, “If the Institute of Astronomy in Helwan did not monitor anything about it, then the greatest possibility is that games or a laser device in this place caused the blue color to appear in the sky.”
