Zidane, 49, has never worked as a technical director outside Real Madrid, where he trained his reserve team between 2014 and 2016, while he took charge of the first team for two terms, the first between 2016 and 2018, and the second from 2019 to 2021.
Over these two periods, Zizou led Real Madrid to achieve 11 titles, led by 3 consecutive titles in the European Champions League (2016-2018).
Zidane has long dreamed of coaching the French national team, which was confirmed by a number of those close to him, most notably Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, after the departure of “Zizou” last year.
