Florent Vollant

A dozen artists will pay homage to the artists smugglers Richard Séguin and Florent Vollant, on July 28, at the Théâtre de la Vieille Forge.

Les Hay Babies (July 28), Patrice Michaud (July 30), Guylaine Tanguay (August 4) and Marilyne Léonard (August 4) complete this programming segment.

In March, we will also unveil the concerts of the acoustic breakfast-concert series, the free 5 to 7 and the end of festive evening events.

“It will be a 40e anniversary which will take place simultaneously with the reconstruction of the new Théâtre de la Vieille Forge, and which will certainly be marked by major logistical challenges, but above all by the celebration of French-speaking song and the significant presence of Aboriginal artists, a legacy of our passing artists Richard Séguin and Florent Vollant,” said general and artistic director Alan Côté in a press release issued this morning.

A podcast series

Tomorrow, the Festival is launching a new podcast series that will mark its 40th anniversary with testimonials and intimate performances by artists who were inspired by this small Gaspé village and the surrounding area to write a song.

Louis-Jean Cormier, Chloé Lacasse, Kanen, Michel Rivard, Marie-Pierre Arthur, Jeanne Côté, Valérian Renault, Gaële and Alan Côté participated in this first season of podcasts available on the main listening platforms.

Tickets for the announced shows are on sale on the Festival de la chanson de Petite-Vallée website.
