It was ultimately Quebecer Alex Guénette who was crowned champion, ahead of Ontarian DJ Kennington and Marc-Antoine Camirand, a native of St-Léonard d’Aston, in Centre-du-Québec. The three drivers fought a fierce battle in the last third of the race.

“I’ve had some great victories in my life, but at Pinty’s, it’s the first!” exclaimed Alex Guénette following his victory.

“Today, we give credit to Alex Guénette who had a great race. We are third today, we will work hard for next year,” said Marc-Antoine Camirand.

As for Jacques Villeneuve, Sunday will be one to forget.

The ex-F1 world champion simply failed to start due to an ignition problem. He quickly left Trois-Rivières to take the plane to return to Europe, without speaking in front of the media.
