There are tools to find out if some of your data, starting with your email, circulating on the Dark Web. For this, you can for example go to the site Have I Been Pwned (“Did I get tricked?”) or on a dedicated antivirus vendor page F-Secure. Each time, you must enter your e-mail address.
The service then lists all your accounts whose data has been reported as stolen.
If these data are in circulation, there is no evidence that they were used or resold. In any case, it will be necessary to change the passwords corresponding to this email address and to the identified accounts as soon as possible.
To avoid being a victim of data theft, there are simple steps to take, such as change passwords regularly. This may not prevent your e-mail address from circulating on dark networks one day, but your accounts and associated data will not be threatened.
