You may have caught a glimpse of it hanging out on Twitter after watching Episode 3 of the Book by Boba Fett. Indeed, Star Wars fans are in turmoil after the surprise publication. a trailer for a brand new Star Wars series. Baptized Knights of Ren, it would obviously be centered on the Knights of Ren, a group made up of elite warriors merciless and sensitive to the force whose leader is none other than Kylo Ren.

You may have seen them in particular in Star Wars IX : l’Ascension de Skywalker, where they are easily taken out by a Kylo Ren who becomes Ben Solo again. A passage that will not fail to tickle fans of the universe. Perhaps that may explain the excitement surrounding the trailer released this morning. But then, what exactly do we see there?

Star Wars Knights of Ren: scam or authentic trailer?

The footage shows a member of the Knights of Ren, whose design is eerily reminiscent of Lord of the Rings Sauron, jump from his TIE fighter onto an X-Wing. He then draws his lightsaber to cut part of the ship, causing it to crash. Once the aircraft is on the ground and completely destroyed, we see the knight pose on the carcass, two red lightsabers in his hand. End clap, then appearance of the title on a black background: Knights of Ren, a Star Wars Story. The logo Disney+ ensues, which suggests that it will be a film or series for the platform.

In the first place, we must admit that the trailer remains impressive, the special effects are good, the animation is very clean, and the voiceover dubbing (which is reminiscent of Snoke’s voice) seems authentic. Despite everything, several elements lead us to question the legitimacy of this trailer. In the first place, the mention to Star Wars Story has always been attributed to Star Wars films until now, like Rogue One Where Solo.

In fact, we could very well be in front of a film, but it is difficult to see Disney reserve a Star Wars feature film on its platform only. Or, we are in front of the very first series stamped “Story”. It should be remembered that a Star Wars series: A Droid Story has already been confirmed by the firm with big ears. Another point raised in particular by the fans, the Knights of Ren have never been equipped with a lightsaber… Of course, there is the last option: this is an extremely well-made fake and therefore there is no reason to get carried away. And you, what is your opinion on this trailer? Tell us in the comments.
