During the sales, Amazon offers a great price on a USB to DisplayPort adapter. Indeed, a StarTech model is sold for €80 (instead of the usual €120). This box offers two DisplayPort outputs capable of supporting 4K displays at 60Hz, and it’s a good complement for the MacBook Air M1 and M2, which only support one external display natively.

StarTech’s adapter incorporates a DisplayLink chip, which we talked regarding in a dossier. It supports multiple displays through a single USB 3.0 port and the performance is good enough to work with if you need multiple monitors. For a few years now, DisplayLink drivers have been limited to a fairly complete application and the bugs present on the old drivers are ancient history.
At €80, theadapter de StarTech is therefore a good choice if you need to connect several monitors on a Mac limited on this point. Note, however, that you will probably need a USB-C to USB-A adapterbut the old jack remains popular enough in 2023 to consider that you probably already have one, perhaps through a docking station or hub of some sort.
