Monkeypox continues to spread around the world. The WHO says it is concerned about the increase in cases. A vaccine has just been approved.
Monkeypox is a disease that is characterized by high fever and rashes but is generally mild. Almost all cases result from sexual intercourse, according to the latest studies. 15,300 cases have been identified in 71 countries.
The European Medicines Agency approved a vaccine on Friday. It is in fact the same as that against classic smallpox, because of the resemblance between the two diseases.
