Iranian actress Mitra Hajjar was arrested, on Saturday, at her home, according to the reformist newspaper, Sharq.
The newspaper quoted Mehdi Kohian, a member of a group monitoring arrests among artists, as saying, “Mitra Hajjar, the film and television actress, was arrested today after her apartment was searched.”
Hajjar posted on her Instagram account posts related to the protests.
Since September 16, Iran has been witnessing demonstrations protesting the death of the 22-year-old Iranian-Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini, after she was arrested by the “morality police” for violating the strict dress code in Iran. She fell into a coma shortly after, and died three days later.
Thousands of people were arrested in connection with the protests, including senior artists, politicians and athletes.
And last month, the Iranian authorities released on bail the famous Iranian actress, Hengama Qadiani, more than a week after she was arrested on the grounds of her support for the protest movement in the country, according to “Tasnim” agency.
Qadiani was arrested on November 20 after she incited and supported “riots” and communicated with opposition media, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Qadiani had published on her Instagram account a video recording filmed in a street in Tehran, in which she appeared without a veil in front of the camera without speaking, and then turned around and tied her hair like women participating in demonstrations.
