The fierce storm that hit White Bay This Saturday it wreaked havoc on a skate exhibition at the Northern Bahiense Club. The collapse of the roof of the building caused the death of 13 personas and left 14 others with serious injuries.

The day represented the annual closing and, although there was a storm warning, no one imagined that everything would end in a true catastrophe.

Federico Duo (44) and María Laura Rodríguez (43), two of the victims, went to see their eldest daughter who was going to make her last skate performance of the year. Minutes before 10 p.m., the wind became the protagonist of the night and ended up knocking down a wall on some of those present.

“A wall fell on them”, Florencia González, a family member of the couple, said in dialogue. In this sense, she lamented: “There are two children who were left without a father and without a mother,” referring to the daughter they went to see and another of her children.

Likewise, he reported that the Bahiense del Norte Club was aware of the alert due to the storm and did not suspend activities. However, he clarified that “No one imagined this would happen.””.

The couple’s daughter, who participated in the exhibition, is out of danger. For her part, Florencia is still trying to communicate with the rest of her loved ones, since many of them still do not have electricity.

According to local authorities, the rest of the fatal victims were identified as Luis Pérez, Rubén Baldi, Benicio Baldi, Juliana Barquero, Adriana Contento, Juana Danszyt, Norma Nieto, Diego Carrasco, Rosa Figueroa, Bryan Ortega and Diego Cassati.
