If the situation in Valais is not extreme, the danger of fire remains present in this period of mild weather.
A significant release of smoke was detected this Friday morning, around 10:45 a.m., in the Bieudron region, in the town of Nendaz (VS).
Despite the heavy smoke in this forest area, the surrounding trees were not affected. The situation is completely under control, reassures the Valais police in the columns of the “Nouvelliste”. Contacted by 20 minutes, its spokesperson Cynthia Zermatten specifies that the fire started in a waste disposal center for reasons that the investigation will have to determine. It is a pile of green waste that has been consumed.
In Valais, the fire danger is “marked”, i.e. 3 out of 6 in the region between Sion and Sierre, as well as in part of Haut-Valais, recalls the “news writer.” according to a map put online by the State of Valais.
