75 years ago, the need for books was great. Young entrepreneur Rudolf Trauner recognized this in 1948 and in the post-war period he founded the Trauner Verlag with an attached travel and mail-order bookstore from the then Ibis-Verlag. He started with four employees and initially translated and published books by well-known authors such as Mark Twain and Jack London.
