A World Championship beneficial for the value of Joel Armia

The Finns are world champions. That means Joel Armia is too. He had a great post-season tournament and his performances can drive up his market value. Its value is rising, but by how much?

Sean Campbell de TSN 690 looked into the matter on Monday morning, and according to him, Joel Armia has only proven his worth, without necessarily increasing it.

That sums up exactly the player that is Armia. At the end of the season, we noticed that he didn’t necessarily want to be in Montreal and it showed in his game. He was being crushed, as Campbell says so well. He had just two goals and no assists in his last 12 games of the season. Before this bad streak, however, things were going pretty well, since he had accumulated five points in as many games.

To have a productive Armia, you need a happy Armia and that’s what we saw in Finland at the World Championship. A total harvest of five goals and three assists in ten games, in addition to concluding with a gold medal around his neck. His goals were also very important; he scored the game-winning goal to eliminate the United States in the semifinals and gave the USA a 3-1 lead late in the third period for the gold medal.

Sean Campbell explained on TSN 690 that pro recruiters from other teams and Kent Hughes will not be fooled by these performances. Armia’s value hasn’t gone up, but it’s cleared up nicely. He will have to keep his heart in his stomach all season to produce better than this year. Somehow he seems to produce better with a winning team.

Armia is an impact player who could help any NHL team progress, but a pretty good deal for Kent Hughes still needs to come along. Until then, Joel Armia is Montrealer.
