A major crisis faced the makers of the series “Jet Selima” by the star Donia Samir Ghanem, which is scheduled to be shown in the upcoming Ramadan season 2023, as a young writer named Rawan Abu Khashem accused his makers of stealing his idea from her novel “Vakeet Afrit”.
Abu Khashm said, during a special statement to “An-Nahar”, that she was surprised when watching the promotional promo for the series, that it was the idea of her novel “Vakit Afrit”, which was presented at the Cairo International Book Fair, in the year before last 2021, as her story revolves around a girl who reads a book, and transports her to another world. at its end.
And she confirmed that the matter is not a matter of ideas, and I became sure of that after hearing the sentence that Donia Samir Ghanem mentioned, at the beginning of the promo, which is “the beginning is an end and the end is a beginning.” It is the sentence she used in her narration, which is “the end but the beginning.”
Abu Khashm confirmed that she tried to communicate with the work makers before submitting an official communication to the Attorney General, but it was to no avail, and until this moment, none of them contacted her.
The series is directed by Islam Khairy and produced by Ahmed El Sobky, and co-starring Mohamed Salam, Sami Maghawry, Sherine, Mohamed Tharwat, and a number of other artists.
