a year later, his companion regrets the absence of “apology” and “compassion”

Stéphane Voirin, the companion of the Spanish teacher Agnès Lassalle killed by a student in Saint-Jean-de-Luz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), affirms that the absence of “compassion” on the part of the high school student’s family “prevents you from moving forward”.

“It’s something that’s stopping me from moving forward.” One year to the day after the murder of teacher Agnès Lassalle in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, her companion Stéphane Voirin confided this Thursday, February 22, his pain on France Blue and pointed out the silence of the suspect and his family since the tragedy.

“I feel ignored. I haven’t received a message, a wink or anything to that effect. Absolutely no apology, nothing from the killer, from his family,” he regretted.

“I would have liked to hear a little compassion, a compassionate word from them,” he adds, declaring that he feels “disrespected, despised”.

The teenager in detention

“I wonder what we mean to them. Isn’t Agnès just a teacher?” he asks a year after his partner, a Spanish teacher in a private high school, was stabbed in the middle of class by a student.

“One of the main reasons for his incarceration is precisely the absolute ban on him coming into contact with witnesses to the tragedy, with the victim’s relatives and with any person linked to this case,” replied , still on France Bleu, the lawyer of the accused teenager.

Aged 16, the latter was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention. Presenting a fragile psychological profile, he told investigators that he followed “a little voice” pushing her to commit the irreparable.

According to France Bleu, a commemorative plaque paying tribute to the teacher will be unveiled in the garden of the Peyuco Duhart cultural center in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, this Thursday, February 22, 2024.
