What the war has made them lose since February 24, 2022
The conflict triggered by Russia a year ago took away a loved one, a part of their culture or their business. Three Ukrainians recount the loss and the difficult reconstruction.
Since 2014, and especially since February 24, 2022, with a tenfold increase in intensity, weapons speak in Ukraine. Russian missiles rain down on cities, tanks clash in desolate countryside, shells crash into trenches. Their explosions shake the country well beyond the 1,500 kilometers from the front line. For a year, the whole of Ukraine has been attacked by Vladimir Putin’s Russia. The conflict has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of civilians, many more Ukrainian soldiers, and even more Russian soldiers.
