A 20-year-old American boy was the victim of 20,000 killer bee stings in the state of Ohio. Plunged into an artificial coma, he finds himself between life and death.
The young man was pruning a lemon tree when, without realizing it, he severed a nest of killer bees. He literally found himself surrounded by these insects, also called Africanized bees, reputed to be particularly aggressive. To tell you, the victim’s grandmother and uncle attended the scene, without being able to really help the young man. The bees blocked their way.
In total, Austin was bitten more than 20,000 times and even ingested around 30. At the hospital, the doctors took several days to extract all the insects from his body.
He is now fighting for his life. The young man was plunged into an artificial coma. His mother started a fundraiser to pay for his medical care.
