Mananthavady: A youth drowned in the reservoir of Wayanad Banasura Sagar dam. The deceased has been identified as Rasheeda, 28, of Koduvalli. The accident happened while taking a bath with friends on a holiday.
The accident happened on Sunday followingnoon. All tourist destinations in the district are closed due to Kovid restrictions. People do not have access to Banasura Sagar either. The accident happened while descending to another part of the reservoir.
They arrived for a tour yesterday. While bathing in the reservoir of the Banasura Sagar Dam, he was submerged in mud. The body was found following a search by firefighters and locals.
The body was shifted to Mananthavady Medical College Hospital for postmortem. It will be handed over to the relatives following the postmortem.
