Steady progress is being made in the organizational restructuring of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) with regard to the DOU, in the context of adopting the new operating model presented by its governor, George Pitsilis, at the beginning of the year.
– The establishment of its centralized services AADE in Attica and Thessaloniki (Certification and Collection Centers, Capital Tax Centers, Tax Procedures and Service Centers), to which all the functions currently performed by the DOU are transferred.
– The evolution of the current DOUs of Attica and Thessaloniki into new type services, without specific local competence, which will operate as Tax Service Services. Staffed with experienced and specialized staff, in spaces with a modern and ergonomic design, which will offer functional efficiency and spatial flexibility, with a minimal environmental footprint, the new services will focus on welcoming, informing and directly serving taxpayers, who will be guided in the use of digital applications and will facilitate the proper fulfillment of their tax obligations.
For the implementation of this plan, by decision of the Governor of AADE, the following DOUs of Attica and Thessaloniki with adjacent territorial jurisdiction are consolidated, as follows:
The Governor of AADE is in contact with the Mayors of the Municipalities of Zografou, Aigaleo, Psychiko and Koropia, to investigate the possibility of setting up Tax Service Offices in the premises of these Municipalities.
Furthermore, taking into account the daily cash transactions at the DOU of Attica, after the establishment of the Attica Certification and Collection Center, by Decision of the Governor of AADE, from March 26, 2024, cash services will be provided for the issuance of duplicate type A collection documents exclusively from the following services:

Simultaneously with the centralization of our services in Attica and Thessaloniki, we are upgrading the DOUs to Tax Service Services, removing geographical restrictions. We are creating a new service model for citizens and businesses, which reduces bureaucracy and at the same time offers better services to taxpayers.”
